TechFin

The term technology originated in the 1610s, "a discourse or treatise on an art or the arts," from Greek tekhnologia "systematic treatment of an art, craft, or technique," originally referring to grammar, from tekhno-, combining form of tekhne "art, skill, craft in work; method, system, an art, a system or method of making or doing," from PIE *teks-na- "craft" (of weaving or fabricating), from suffixed form of root *teks- "to weave," also "to fabricate."

Techfin is a term used for technology companies delivering financial solutions digitally. Apple Pay and Alipay are a few techfin companies. The key differentiation between techfin and fintech is the origin of the company. Technology companies fall into the techfin camp whereas financial companies fall into the fintech camp. The race is on to provide the best technical/financial solutions for supply chain problems. Who can mitigate risk and remove friction from the supply chain? Blockchain can certainly help companies mitigate risk, increase trust, and remove friction from the supply chain.
