Subtraction

June 4, 2019

The term subtraction is c. 1400, "withdrawal, removal," from Late Latin subtractionem (nominative subtractio) "a drawing back, taking away," from past participle stem of Latin subtrahere "take away, draw off, draw from below," from sub "from under" (see sub-) + trahere "to pull, draw."

Subtraction is a useful tool in developing business plans and business strategies. Paradoxically, addition by subtraction can enable companies to do fewer things in a better, deeper, and more focused way and therefore accomplish more. Eliminate possibilities and distractions to grow revenue.
