Test

The term test is from 1748, "to examine the correctness of," from test (n.), on the notion of "put to the proof." Earlier "assay gold or silver" in a test (c. 1600). Meaning "to administer a test" is from 1939; sense of "undergo a test" is from 1934.

A/B testing is the process of comparing two versions of a web page, email, or other marketing asset with just one varying element. A/B testing helps you avoid unnecessary risks by allowing you to target your resources for maximum effect and efficiency, which helps increase ROI whether it be based on short-term conversions, long-term customer loyalty or other important metrics. External factors can affect the results of your test. A/B testing is a good start to understanding which elements work better than others.
