Pathos

The term pathos is a quality that arouses pity or sorrow, 1660s, from Greek pathos "suffering, feeling, emotion, calamity," literally "what befalls one," related to paskhein "to suffer," pathein "to suffer, feel," penthos "grief, sorrow."

Appeal to emotions, feelings, biases, prejudices, senses, and motivations to inspire your audience. Use pathose to create a close connection with you and your brand. When you correctly address feelings about the subject you can win over an audience. Use pathos to invoke sympathy from an audience. Uses of pathos include anger, pity, and empathy.
