Content refers to "things contained, that which is contained" in something (the stomach, a document, etc.), from the early 15c., from Latin contentum (plural contenta), noun use of neuter past participle in the literal sense of continere "to hold together, enclose," from assimilated form of com "with, together" (see con-) + tenere "to hold" (from PIE root *ten- "to stretch").

Content in marketing materials is paramount to growing revenue. Optimizing content is one of the goals of marketing. We are in a keyword society so content must be driven around keywords. In other words, a simple message to get your content to customers. Simple content will resonate with customers. Create the smallest viable market and provide content to drive buying decisions.
