Questioning begins with closed and open ended questions. Close-ended questions are questions which do not allow for various response options. Close-ended questions expect a particular answer limited to certain answers. Closed-ended questions are usually answered with "yes" or "no." Open-ended questions are questions that allow for various responses. Open-ended questions do not expect a particular answer and instead allow for a response of one's choosing.
