The term publish is from the mid-14c., "make publicly known, reveal, divulge, announce;" alteration of publicen (early 14c.) by influence of banish, finish, etc.; from extended stem of Old French publier "make public, spread abroad, communicate," from Latin publicare "make public," from publicus "public."

Integrate writing and publishing in your daily life. The most important aspect of your writing is its content. Is your story interesting? Does your writing have correct information organized clearly and logically? Is your grammar correct? Do you have accurate spelling and punctuation? What is the presentation or appearance of your work? Consider your audience.
