Context

The term context is from early 15c., "a composition, a chronicle, the entire text of a writing," from Latin contextus "a joining together," originally past participle of contexere "to weave together," from assimilated form of com "with, together."

Context is arguably the most important thing in determining how people behave, think, and act. Economics treats all markets as if they are the same. Oil and housing markets are different. Your decision to trade oil and your decision to trade your house depend on the context of the situation. Is the market declining? Should I sell my house when the market price is increasing? Decisions depend on context.
